Shiny Hsinning Lee is an Associate Creative Director at Whatever. She was born in Taipei, nurtured in Tokyo, trained in New York, with a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Waseda University and an MFA degree in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design. After interning at Rhizomatiks and PARTY New York, she moved back to Taiwan and broke ground for PARTY Taipei, which later rebranded as Whatever Taipei.
Shiny has been working across advertising, interaction design, motion graphics, transcreation, and personal passion project. To name a few, her CSR campaign for 7-Eleven, Rhythm of Love, has boosted a record high fundraising and been awarded D&AD, One Show Greater China, Clio Awards, AME Awards, Spikes Asia, AdFest, etc. Her digital art installation, permanently sited at hotel koé tokyo, was featured in the Plus81 Magazine. She is also the co-founder of Taiwan Emoji Project, a project that promotes, explores, and translates Taiwanese experience into the universal pictorial language of emoji, which garnered solid placements in national top-tier media including TVBS, Yahoo, Apple Daily, BuzzOrange, and Brain Magazine.
Shiny is a passionate advocate for young women in creative industries. She has been giving speeches at Taiwan Creativity Week, competing at the Cannes Young Lions on behalf of her country, leading workshops at Shih Chien University, being a part of the judges for One Screen Short Film Festival and Digital Singularity Awards, and mentoring as a consultant for several startups expanding overseas. Through her journey in the world of creativity, she is determined to embrace inclusion, equality, and diversity.
